Bricket Wood is within the Watling Chase Community Forest and is a 'specified settlement in the Green Belt' and is therefore generally subject to the same planning considerations as St Albans.
Lye Lane, Smug Oak Lane, Drop Lane and School Lane are subject to the stricter planning control of the Green Belt.
Old Bricket Wood (School Lane area) is also a Conservation Area.
The Village is situated close to the junction of the M1 and M25, approximately halfway between Watford and St Albans (see map).
Residents benefit from the Bricket Wood Neighbourhood Watch Association which has achieved 100% coverage of the Village. Details of which can be found on the dedicated website.
The Residents Association is governed by a management committee which meets monthly, and holds open meetings quarterly. The Association also publishes a quarterly magazine called "The Voice Of Bricket Wood".
